After the great and successful premiere at the Hamburg Film Festival, today is the long-awaited TV premiere!! THE INVESTIGATOR AND THE SYNTAX OF DEATH (Die Polizistin und die Sprache des Todes) is on today at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF and is also now available in the ZDF Mediathek. Enjoy watching!

The time has finally come! Starting today, a new episode of the Betthupferl bedtime stories, narrated by Sonja Hurani, a podcast from BR, will be released every day for 5 days. Sonja's Betthupferl weekly series is called Fairy Tales for Two (Märchen zu zweit), and you can find the podcast here. The author of these wonderful episodes is Anna Lott.

Annie loves stories before bedtime. She likes fairy tales the most. For example, the one about Little Red Riding Hood or Hansel and Gretel. But Mum thinks the witches and wolves and other evil characters in them are much too scary. So they tell each other the fairy tales in a funny way and together. What fun!

The time has come: On September 27th, THE INVESTIGATOR AND THE SYNTAX OF DEATH (DIE POLIZISTIN UND DIE SPRACHE DES TODES) will premiere at the HAMBURG FILM FESTIVAL at 6:30 p.m. in Cinemaxx 3. Tickets are available here.

Socially critical neo-noir thriller with long-term effect. A woman’s body is found close to the Danish border and police analyst Gloria Acheampong (Thelma Buabeng) is called in. The murder is reminiscent of the deeds of the imprisoned serial killer Rudi Butscher (Nicholas Ofczarek). Is there a copycat killerat work? Gloria is not only confronted by the riddles of the case, but also racism and sexism that rain down on her from all sides and obstruct her investigation.

This year it is once again a very special joy that Sonja is premiering two productions at FILMFEST HAMBURG! It is a special honor that once again it is a film by Lars Becker (screenplay and direction): DIE POLIZISTIN UND DIE SPRACHE DES TODES (THE INVESTIGATOR AND THE SYNTAX OF DEATH) is the opening film for the TELEVISIONS section!

The second premiere is something very special and means a lot to the actress: The first two episodes of the new PFEFFERKÖRNER season (episode 263 & 264, director: Philipp Scholz) will be shown at Michel!

In the ARD early evening series Morden im Norden, Sonja plays one of the main roles, Leila, in the episode "Böse Schwester". We're looking forward to the broadcast next year!

Yak, a troubled pop musician, receives shocking news. His father, who’d rushed back to his home country of Syria decades ago, and whom Yak had nearly forgotten about, is in a coma in a Cologne hospital. There’s another surprise: Yak has a 15-year-old half-sister named Latifa, who speaks only Arabic. Circumstances compel him to travel across Germany with her.

Shooting for the Babelsberg Film Academy begins today. In the short film by Lilith Kugler (screenplay and direction), Sonja takes on the role of Mona. Mona is the mother of the protagonist, who guides us through the film.

Filming has finally started for the Pfefferkörner season 21 (ARD, NDR)! With Sonja Hurani as Fariba Ahmadi-Moreau, the mother of two Pfefferkörner children in the new season. The first block is directed by Phillip Scholz. We are already looking forward to the new Pfefferkörner family!

A great collaboration with the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and SWR Südwestrundfunk! Under the direction and screenwriter Lea Marie Lembke, Sonja will take on the role of Sophie in the wonderful short film Schattenspiele (Shadow Games). We are already looking forward to the result!

Sonja is pleased to be part in a new Lars Becker film series! DIE POLIZISTIN (THE INVESTIGATOR) is a neo-noir crime thriller by the director and screenwriter and will be shown on ZDF as a Studio Zentral production. Sonja plays the supporting role of the doctor Samira El Atrache.

This month, the actress will begin filming in the Black Forest for the cinema movie MISSING LINK, directed by Michael Baumann (screenplay by Sabine Westermaier and Michael Baumann). Sonja will be seen in the supporting role of Semra.

Sonja Hurani is on set as the leading role Dorna for the project Nicht ohne uns 14% (Not without the 14% of us), directed by Christiane Muñoz. We are delighted to be working with the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg!

The actress is on set for the cinema film Im Rosengarten. Sonja will play the role of Shikrie under the direction of Leis Bagdach. We are looking forward to this wonderful project!

Today the short film Zimmer 111 (Room 111) premieres at the Movieworld cinema in Gunzenhausen. Sonja plays the role of Yasmin Amran in this gripping and touching short film. The script and direction are by Saher Iskaf, we thank you for the great collaboration!

We are very excited about filming for the series SOKO Stuttgart! Sonja takes on an episode role in the popular ZDF crime TV series under the direction of Ann-Kristin Knubben.

This year the Arab actress is shooting again for a ZDF movie. She plays judge Tuba Söyüncü in Die Macht der Frauen (The Power of Women) from the film series Wahrheit oder Lüge (Truth or Lie). Direction and screenplay by Lars Becker. It's a pleasure to work again with this great director!

The actress begins filming today for the ZDF film series NACHTSCHICHT - die Ruhe vor dem Sturm. In this episode, Sonja Hurani plays the role of Anissa Megdish. Of course, the screenwriter and director is Lars Becker!

Today the filming of the very moving short film Zimmer 111 (Room 111) begins. Under the direction of Saher Iskaf, Sonja Hurani takes on the role of Yasmin Amran. A movie that gets under your skin!

Today is the premiere of the open air theater project PAULA! Sonja plays, sings and dances in one of the leading roles, Clara Westhoff. The play can be seen every day on the grounds of the Barkenhoff Garden until August 8th, 2021.

Filming has begun! Sonja Hurani is taking on the lovely supporting role of Sahar Aziz in ZDF's new series NEULAND. We are particularly excited about this project! Jens Wischnewski is the director, and Orkun Ertener is the author of this 6-part series.

It's finally starting! After a long, involuntary break, we are happy to announce that this year's summer theater is taking place! Today the rehearsals for the open air piece PAULA begin in Worpswede. Under Oliver Peuker's direction, the Cosmos Factory stages the life of Paula Modersohn-Becker.

Today the Christmas fairy tale Puss in Boots (der gestiefelte Kater) celebrates its premiere in das kleine Hoftheater Hamburg. Together with Andreas Prüst, Ebba Ekholm and Pascal Pfeiler, Sonja Hurani plays the role of the cat Mikesch in a modern, modified production of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, with new music by Stefan Vermehren. The wonderful Petra Behrsing is directing again this year.

Today the Arabic-German children's play die kleine Laterne is performing at the Kölibri in St. Pauli.

The actress is taking part in the Hamburg Theater Night again this year. She can be seen in das kleine Hoftheater, where she will play and sing an excerpt from "Puss in Boots". The whole piece will be performed from November. Sonja plays the role of Mikesch the cat.

Today at 8 p.m. there is the premiere of Kommune Barkenhoff in the Bötjersche Scheune in Worpswede. The play tells of the founding and failure of Heinrich Vogeler's commune, which Vogeler founded on his Barkenhoff property in 1919. Sonja plays the role of Marie Griesbach, also known as "Red Marie".

The play can be seen daily from July 31 to August 11.

Rehearsals begin today for the new theater production at the Cosmos Factory, Kommune Barkenhoff. The actress is spending a summer in Worpswede for the third time to take part in the theater production. Once again Oliver Peuker is directing. Also included are Judith Mann, Thomas Lindhout, Citlali Huezo Sanchez and Anouk Falkenstein. Live music will be provided by guitarist Jon Geiger.

And once again it's curtain up for the Little Lantern (die kleine Laterne)...This time as a guest performance in the Eidelstedt community center, we are looking forward to the Arabic-German play!

Today, the Arab-German children's play "The Little Lantern" is being performed at the Fundus Theater as part of the Children's Theater Meeting. As usual, the Arab actress plays the role of the princess. We are really looking forward to it!

Today the Australian series “Safe Harbor” (German: Ein sicherer Hafen) is broadcast on ARTE. Sonja Hurani dubs the main role of Zahra in all four episodes of the series.

Today it´s premiere for the Frog King. The actress plays the main part as Schubidu, a cute and sympathic role that you will love. Get your tickets here.

Today the musical theater actress will be again seen as Kaa in the musical Jungle Book at the Stadthalle Balingen.

It´s an honor for the Arabic actress and singer to have once again a concert in the Al-Hussein Cultural Center in Amman. This time Sonja will perform a song of the very famous and great singer Fairouz.

Ghassan Kanafani´s wonderful story "the little lantern" (Die kleine Laterne) with Anna Valentina Sinkemat as the producer, has premiere today at the Hoheluftschiff. You can get tickets here.

This year you can see the actress playing parts of the play "Der Froschkönig" in the Hoftheater in Hamburg. The whole play can be seen in November and December. More information will follow...

A very special concert today in the Al-Hussein Cultural Center in Amman, Jordan! Sonja will sing there as a guest, it´s the first Arabic concert for the singer and actress, what a special event!

Today there will be the International Music Mix #3 at the Motte in Hamburg. Shahin Shekho will be presenting his wonderful Arabic poetry and Sonja will read it in German. It will be a moving evening with great music. Don´t miss it!

Today is the premiere of HARK OLUFS. You can see the play until August 6th in the Bötjersche Scheune Worpswede.

After a long break the actress will be seen in the Amphitheater Senftenberg today, playing Kaa in the Jungle Book.
