Today marks the premiere on arte TV of MARIA HAT ANGST, the third part of the series Wahrheit oder Lüge (Truth or Lie) by Lars Becker (screenplay and direction). In this episode, Sonja reprises her role as Judge Tuba Kechrida, which she also played in the second part of the series (DIE MACHT DER FRAUEN). The episode can also be viewed in the arte media library.

Sonja is currently filming the second season of the series PUSH, directed by Joya Thome, in the role of Serap.

Following the successful world premiere of THANKS FOR NOTHING (DANKE FÜR NICHTS) - written and directed by Stella Markert - at the Munich Film Festival, the official cinema premiere is now set to take place in Berlin.

This year, DIE PFEFFERKÖRNER will once again celebrate its premiere at the Hamburg Film Festival. Two episodes from the new season 22 will be shown at Cinemaxx Dammtor. The TV broadcast is scheduled for spring 2026.

The time has finally come, the movie MISSING LINK celebrates its world premiere at the Munich Film Festival! Sonja plays the role of Selma in the film by Michael Baumann (writer and director) and Sabine Westermaier (writer). We are looking forward to this event!

As part of the Paula Modersohn-Becker anniversary, Oliver Peuker is staging a scene from the life of Paula Modersohn-Becker (Anouk Falkenstein) and her friend Clara Westhoff (Sonja Hurani) in Worpswede. The performance takes place in the church.

The second season of the BR radio play MÄRCHEN ZU ZWEIT (FAIRY TALES FOR TWO) is being released today. The fairy tale series is a weekly series of the Betthupferl podcast, in which bedtime stories for children are told. As in the first season, Sonja Hurani speaks five wonderful fairy tales that are not yet known in this version. Again Anna Lott is the author of these great stories and Anja Mösing is once again the director.

Following the success of last year's BR Betthupferl radio play series MÄRCHEN ZU ZWEIT (Fairy Tales for Two), Sonja Hurani is now recording the second season of this wonderful radio play series. Starting today, two new episodes of the 21st season of DIE PFEFFERKÖRNER will air every Saturday on Das Erste! All episodes of the season (episodes 261-273) can already be found in the ARD Mediathek.

Shortly before the broadcast of the 21st season of DIE PFEFFERKÖRNER, filming for season 22 has already begun! Sonja is excited to be back as Fariba Ahmadi-Moreau, mother of the Pfefferkörner Taara and Jules.

The time has finally come! Starting today, a new episode of the Betthupferl bedtime stories, narrated by Sonja Hurani, a podcast from BR, will be released every day for 5 days. Sonja's Betthupferl weekly series is called Fairy Tales for Two (Märchen zu zweit), and you can find the podcast here. The author of these wonderful episodes is Anna Lott.

Annie loves stories before bedtime. She likes fairy tales the most. For example, the one about Little Red Riding Hood or Hansel and Gretel. But Mum thinks the witches and wolves and other evil characters in them are much too scary. So they tell each other the fairy tales in a funny way and together. What fun!

Socially critical neo-noir thriller with long-term effect. A woman’s body is found close to the Danish border and police analyst Gloria Acheampong (Thelma Buabeng) is called in. The murder is reminiscent of the deeds of the imprisoned serial killer Rudi Butscher (Nicholas Ofczarek). Is there a copycat killerat work? Gloria is not only confronted by the riddles of the case, but also racism and sexism that rain down on her from all sides and obstruct her investigation.

This week, the actress recorded radio plays for the Betthupferl. A radio play podcast from Bayerischer Rundfunk with bedtime stories for children.

Shooting for the Babelsberg Film Academy begins today. In the short film by Lilith Kugler (screenplay and direction), Sonja takes on the role of Mona. Mona is the mother of the protagonist, who guides us through the film.

The actress has completed filming in Austria for the second season of the Netflix / ORF series Totenfrau (Women of the Dead). She plays the role of Sabire under the direction of Daniel Prochaska.

Filming has finally started for the Pfefferkörner season 21 (ARD, NDR)! With Sonja Hurani as Fariba Ahmadi-Moreau, the mother of two Pfefferkörner children in the new season. The first block is directed by Phillip Scholz. We are already looking forward to the new Pfefferkörner family!

A great collaboration with the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg and SWR Südwestrundfunk! Under the direction and screenwriter Lea Marie Lembke, Sonja will take on the role of Sophie in the wonderful short film Schattenspiele (Shadow Games). We are already looking forward to the result!

Sonja is pleased to be part in a new Lars Becker film series! DIE POLIZISTIN (THE INVESTIGATOR) is a neo-noir crime thriller by the director and screenwriter and will be shown on ZDF as a Studio Zentral production. Sonja plays the supporting role of the doctor Samira El Atrache.

This month, the actress will begin filming in the Black Forest for the cinema movie MISSING LINK, directed by Michael Baumann (screenplay by Sabine Westermaier and Michael Baumann). Sonja will be seen in the supporting role of Semra.

Sonja Hurani is on set as the leading role Dorna for the project Nicht ohne uns 14% (Not without the 14% of us), directed by Christiane Muñoz. We are delighted to be working with the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg!

The actress is on set for the cinema film Im Rosengarten. Sonja will play the role of Shikrie under the direction of Leis Bagdach. We are looking forward to this wonderful project!

This year's revival of the play Kommune Barkenhoff has been cancelled at short notice due to illness.

Like almost every summer, a play was scheduled to take place in Worpswede. The wonderful play Kommune Barkenhoff, which premiered in the summer of 2019, was now to be performed again after it had to be cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. This time, Sonja Hurani was again to take on the lead role of Marie Griesbach.

Today the short film Zimmer 111 (Room 111) premieres at the Movieworld cinema in Gunzenhausen. Sonja plays the role of Yasmin Amran in this gripping and touching short film. The script and direction are by Saher Iskaf, we thank you for the great collaboration!

We are very excited about filming for the series SOKO Stuttgart! Sonja takes on an episode role in the popular ZDF crime TV series under the direction of Ann-Kristin Knubben.

The actress is starring in an ERGO Insurance commercial with the theme of "diversity". We are looking forward to filming this important topic!

"Because I am a woman" is the translation of the show لأني امرأة - a series from DW Arabia in which strong Arab women around the world are sought out and presented. For Sonja Hurani, the request for this show was a great honor and it was also a matter of honor to take part as the protagonist.

The actress, singer and athlete was accompanied and filmed by the Deutsche Welle team for two days.
